Obituary

Micah Traylenn Martinez, 18, of Markham, passed away February 2, 2018. He was born November 29, 1999 in Bay City.

Micah was a talented senior at Tidehaven High School with a bright future. He had big plans to attend the University of Houston through their theater program after graduation. Micah was kind hearted, witty, fun loving, passionate about life and loved by everyone who knew him. Some called him the ultimate entertainer. He felt most comfortable on stage and in costume. Whether it be performing voice imitations, having the leading role in a play, singing and playing piano or any other number of instruments he was gifted with, you were almost certain he was the one that would be stealing the show. And if the opportunity ever presented itself you were guaranteed to be shown a magic trick or even sword swallowing.

Over the last 18 years there wasn't much Micah didn't try. In earlier years you could always find him on a soccer field. He also played football, basketball and baseball and spent a few years learning Taekwondo. However his love for acting also started very young and quickly became his true passion that began to consume most of his time.

Besides acting and singing, other hobbies of Micah's included learning new musical instruments, fishing, caving with his Pepaw, gaming and most recently modeling. Throughout his High School career at Tidehaven he was a member of the Chess Club, Tidehaven Tiger Pride Band, THS Choir, Robotics, Yearbook, Drama Club and Theater Program participating in OAP every year. He was also actively involved in Tigers for Christ and many times led the morning meetings. Micah won numerous team awards in sports, band and theater. He also received the Best Actor Award, Outstanding Musician and 1st Place in the Science Fair.

Micah deeply loved his family, friends and fellow classmates but the deepest and most important love was his love for his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. Anyone that knew Micah knew his faith and how boldly he was willing to share it. The world will be forever changed without the presence of this well accomplished, young, rising star and we can only imagine what the future would have held for such talent. Micah will not only be missed by friends and family but an entire community.
