Melani M. Freeman, D.V.M., 61, of Bay City, Texas, passed away Saturday, September 17, 2016. Melani is survived by her beloved daughters and sons-in law, Rachel and David Esslinger of Houston, TX and Kristen and Zack Webernick of Needville, TX, as well as her grandchildren, Piper Esslinger (2 years old) and David "Tripp" Esslinger (6 weeks old). Melani is also survived by her mother, Dorothy Marsters, and preceded in death by her father, Judson F. Marsters, Sr.

Melani will be remembered as a loving mother and doting GiGi whose loyalty to her family was unwavering. Melanie graduated from Texas A&M University and practiced veterinary medicine in south Texas her entire career. Her warm smile and calm demeanor touched every person she encountered, and her generosity of spirit will remain with those who loved her.

Services for Dr. Freeman will be held on Saturday, September 24, 2016 at the First Baptist Church (2321 Avenue F) in Bay City at 10:00 a.m. with Dr. Mike Zimmerman officiating. Interment will follow at Cedarvale Cemetery. Pallbearers are David Esslinger, Zack Webernick, Justin Storts, E.T. Hubbard, Robert Roe and Gerald Palmisano. Honorary pallbearers are John Ed Storts and Ron Ballenger.
