Mayme Duke, 87, of Blessing, TX passed away Saturday, April 25, 2009. She was born February 27, 1922 in Hitchcock, TX to Joseppi Calo and Dominica Matranga Calo.

She is survived by her daughter: Marjorie Anne Planka & husband Frank Planka of Alvin, TX; by her sons: Elmo Duke, Jr. & wife Rita Marianne Duke of Bay City and Anthony Duke, Sr. & wife Carolyne Duke of Liverpool; by a sister: Rita Gates of San Antonio; and by 10 grandchildren, 27 great grandchildren and 7 great-great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband: Elmo "Pete" Duke, Sr.; her parents: Joseppi & Dominica Calo; and by 7 sisters and 1 brother.

The Rosary will be held at 6:00 PM Sunday, April 26, 2009 at the St. Peter's Catholic Church. The Funeral Mass will be held at 11:00 AM Monday, April 27, 2009 at St. Peter's Catholic Church in Blessing, with Rev. Samuel Appiasi officiating. Interment will follow at the Hawley Cemetery in Blessing, TX. Pallbearers will be Anthony Duke III, John "Johnny" Duke, Robert Lee Duke, Cody Duke, Christopher J. Duke, Brian Duke and J. D. Greenawalt. Honorary pallbearers will be John Duke, Elmo "Bubba" Duke III, and Mark Greenawalt.
