IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Maxie Louise
Blackwell Young
May 16, 1943 – January 28, 2024
Maxie Lousie Blackwell Young, 80, of Palacios, Texas, passed away on Sunday, January 28, 2024. She was born May 16, 1943 in Clinton, Kentucky, to the late Robert McKinley Johnson and Ruth Cunningham Johnson.
Louise Blackwell, "Mom," lived a life of meaning and fulfilling acts of kindness. From caring for her husband through sickness, to nursing her son throughout his life—she built her entire life around her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren, who she loved very much. She enjoyed various activities such as watching the Houston Texans play every week with her children and becoming a Sunday school teacher for some time of her life. Everything she did was for the people who she cared about, and it's this type of selflessness that fueled her shining personality. Though she will be in our hearts forever, we can only hope to adopt a fraction of the love and compassion she had for others.
Louise was preceded in death by her parents, Robert and Ruth Johnson; husbands, Terrell F. Blackwell, Sr., and Jack W. Young III; son, Ronnie Blackwell; four sisters, and one brother. She is survived by her son, Terrell F. Blackwell, Jr. of Palacios, Texas; daughter, Tammy Blackwell of Bay City, Texas; son, Keith Blackwell (Cynthia) of Van Vleck, Texas; sister, Barbara Landers (Jerry) of Matthews, Missouri; 7 grandchildren, 21 great-grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews.
The family will receive relatives and friends for visitation from 6:00-8:00pm Monday, February 5, 2024, at the Palacios Funeral Home. Funeral Services we be held at 2:00pm Tuesday, February 6, 2024. Interment will follow at Midfield Cemetery in Midfield, Texas. Pallbearers for Maxie will be Rodney Tucker III, Benjamin Moore IV, Terrell Blackwell III, Chase Blackwell, Keith Blackwell, Jr., Malachi Moore, Benjamin Moore V, Braylon Blackwell Winebrenner.
