His love for sports continued through his adult life, he could be found on the golf course or jogging around the city by the sea. He ran his first marathon at age 55 and played golf courses throughout the state of Texas, sharing his love for golf with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. After retiring from Alcoa, he could often be found cheering on the Sharks and Sharkettes at Palacios High School sporting events.
