Matilde Herrera Erevia, 73, of Bay City passed away Tuesday, August 4, 2009. He was born March 14, 1936 in New Gulf, TX to the late David Erevia & Maria Herrera Erevia. Matilde was a member of Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church, and a resident of Matagorda County for the past 45 years.

He is survived by 5 daughters: Rosemary, Elvy, Elizabeth, Mary Jane, and Norma; 2 sons: Martin and Joe John Erevia; 4 sisters: Maria, Esparanza, Lucia, and Connie; 4 brothers: Raymond, Antonio, Angel, and David Erevia; and numerous grandchildren. Matilde was preceded in death by his parents, and sister Ester.

A Rosary will be recited 7:30 PM Thursday, August 6, 2009 at Taylor Bros. Funeral Home. The Mass will be held 10:00 AM Friday, August 7, 2009 at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church with Father Gerry Cernoch officiating. Interment will follow at Roselawn Memorial Park in Van Vleck, TX. Pallbearers will be: Brian Erevia, Bennard Erevia Jr., Martin Erevia Jr., Philip Erevia, Tony Galvez Jr., and Charles Montalbo.
