Matilda Romero, 81, of Houston, passed away Thursday, December 15, 2005 in Houston, TX. She was born October 10, 1924 in Nordheim, TX to Pedro & Pauline Pena. She was a member of St. Lawrence Catholic Church of Sugar Land and a former member of Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church in Bay City.

She is survived by her daughter: Yolanda Martinez of Sugar Land; her sons: Robert Romero of Houston and Jesse Romero, III of Bay City; by a sister: Magdalena Longoria of Bay City; and by four grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents and by her husband: Jesus Romero.

The Rosary service will be held at 3:00 PM Sunday, December 18, 2005 at Taylor Bros. Funeral Chapel. The Funeral Mass will be held at 10:00 AM Monday, December 19, 2005 at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church with Rev. Gerry Cernoch officiating.
