Mary V. Garza, 82, of Bay City, passed away September 18, 2018. She was born May 30, 1936 in Bay City, TX to Juan and Margarita De Leon Villanueva.

Mary was caring, loving and devoted to her family. She enjoyed collecting plants, coffee on her back porch and big family gatherings. Mary especially loved her children around the dining table as a family. She was a devout Catholic and a member of Our Lady of Guadalupe all of her life.

Mary is preceded in death by her parents, and husband Nicolas Garza, Sr. She is survived by children Julio Garza (Chris), J. Armando Garza (Esther), Mario Garza, Gloria Rivas, Reina Price (Richard), Victoria Garza (Rick Brooks), Graciela Bidigare (John), Diana Soto and Nicolas Garza, Jr.; brothers Johnny Villanueva, Armando Villanueva, Edward Villanueva and Joe Villanueva; sisters Hope Villanueva, Ester Montoya, Sylvia Reyes and Linda Ramos; 18 grandchildren, 22 great-grandchildren and 15 great-great grandchildren; sister-in-law Calixta Urrea, and numerous nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends and relatives from 4:00 pm - 8:00 pm, with a Rosary at 6:30 pm at Taylor Bros. Funeral Home. Services will be 10:00 am Friday, September 21, 2018, at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church with Msgr. Gerry Cernoch officiating. Interment will follow at Cedarvale Cemetery. Pallbearers are Raymond Rivas, Justin Rivas, Mario T. Garza, Noah Garza, Joseph Garza, John Garza, John Bidigare II, Paul Soto, Jr. and David Ruth.
