Mary Helen Stepp passed from this life in Bay City, TX February 4, 2015. She was born June 11, 1931 in Eldorado, Oklahoma. She lived in Quanah, TX until 1969 when she moved to Matagorda, TX.
Her family will cherish her memory as a devoted wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother. Her friends will remember a happy, generous, kind person with a sweet smile and laugh. She was a lifelong church member and worker and loved the Lord. She enjoyed painting, traveling and spending time with family and friends.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Alvie H. Stepp, twin sister Marie Ellison, older sister Betty Rowland and parents Edna and Herbert Huffhines. She is survived by her children, Mattie M. Watkins (Gayle) of Bay City, TX and Malcom W. Stepp (Anita) of Conroe, TX, brother Tommy Huffhines of Quanah, TX, 5 grandchildren, Mark and Robert Lister, Virginia Campisi, Wade Stepp and Julie Stepp and 14 great grandchildren, numerous nieces and nephews and a dear friend Clyde Hauff.
The family will receive friends and relatives at Taylor Bros. Funeral Home in Bay City, TX from 2pm until 4pm Saturday, February 7, 2014. Graveside service will be 3:00 PM Monday, February 9, 2014 at Quanah Memorial Park in Quanah, TX.
