Mary Ellen Peterson Bannert, 73, of the Carancahua community died March 19, 2006 at the Memorial Medical Center in Port Lavaca, TX. She was
born November 20, 1932 in Carancahua to the late Gustav Emil and Mary Alice Slaughter Peterson. Mrs. Bannert was a life long resident of the Carancahua community and a member of the Church of Christ.
Survivors include her former husband of 48 years Alvin Leon Bannert of Edna, TX; daughters: Mary Wolfe of Mahanoy City, PA and Sharon Harter of Blessing, TX; sons: Alvin Dale Bannert of Sweeny, TX, Marshall Bannert of Dickerson, TX, and Emil Glenn Bannert of Edna, TX; brother: Kenneth Peterson of Carancahua Community; 12 grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her daughter; Ellen Vengular, sister: Leta Kelly: brothers: Charlie and Ludwig Peterson; grandchildren: Justin Bannert, Christopher and Chad Anthony Rogers, and Sheila Linette Harter,
Funeral Service will be 4:00 PM Wednesday, March 22, 2006 at the Palacios Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Shan Jackson and Rev. Hollie Briscoe officiating. Interment will follow at Olivia Cemetery in Olivia, TX. The family will receive friends at the Palacios Funeral Home Tuesday evening frm 6:00 to 8:00 PM.
