Mary Lou Mendoza, 54, of Bay City, passed away on Wednesday, December 28, 2022. She was born in El Campo, Texas on July 1, 1968 to Arnulfo O. Mendoza and Frances Mendoza.

She loved football. The Texans were her favorite team. She loved to fish and sit by the ocean but most of all she loved her children & her grandchildren. She loved taking long car rides. She loved track as her favorite sport & even ran track in El Campo, Texas. She loved the melody of music and dancing to the beat. She had a heart of gold.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Arturo Bentancur Sr; brothers, Andrew Mendoza, Raymond Joe Jr Gonzales and grandson, Jason Whatley. She is survived by her parents, Frances Mendoza & Arnulfo O Mendoza; daughters, Sandy Marie Lopez, Angie Michelle Bentancur, Amanda Lou Whatley, & Christina Lynn Lopez;  brothers, Alfred Mendoza, Victor Mendoza, and Arnulfo Mendoza; sisters, Annie Zamora, Isabel Mendoza, and Mary Martinez; grandchildren, Angel Ray Cardenas, Justin Curtis Arturo Wright, Audrie Anna Wright, Sophia Queen Vega, Markoluz King Vega, William Gus Whatley, Lily Whatley, Abigail Whatley, Cameron Whatley, Micheal Whatley, and Faith Whatley.

The family will receive friends and relatives for visitation at 1:00pm Tuesday, January 3, 2023, at Emmanuel Baptist Church in Bay City, Texas. Funeral services will begin at 2:00pm with Frank Lee Zamora officiating. Interment will immediately follow at Cedarvale Cemetery in Bay City. Pallbearers for Ms. Mendoza will be Juan Alba, Agustin Perez, Fred Zamora, Joe Herrera III, Viterbo Perez Jr., and Kris Doria.
