Mary Rosie Marshall, 81, of Bay City passed away March 27, 2009. She was born March 5, 1928 in Wharton, TX to the late Robert and Mary Annie Ruether Talafuse. She was a longtime resident of Matagorda County and a member of Calvary Baptist Church.

She was preceded in death by a grandson, Stephen New. Survivors include daughters Peggy Wallace & husband Harvey of Bay City, Sandra Hall & husband Gillis of Sweeny and Martha Remington & husband Scott of State Line, NV; sons Ricky New of Brazoria and Gerry New & wife Susie of Lake Jackson; sisters Albina Jones of Bay City, Pauline Poncik of East Bernard & Rosie Jansen of Sugarland; grandchildren Montana Wallace, Amy & Katie Hall, Carson Remington and Curtis & Candice New; great grandchildren Sheyenne & Dustin New.

The family will receive friends and relatives from 5pm to 7pm Monday at the funeral Home. Funeral service will be 10:00 AM Tuesday, March 31, 2009 at Taylor Bros. Funeral Home with Rev. Chester Sassman officiating. Interment will follow at Roselawn Memorial Park. Pallbearers will be Montana Wallace, Curtis New, John McGlothlin, Lee Winningham, Michael Jones and Raymond Jones, Jr.
