Mary Lou Garcia, 85, of Katy, passed away on Wednesday, January 20, 2016. Mary Lou was born on June 19, 1930 in Bay City to Hilario and Antonia Munoz.

Mary Lou was a loving wife, mother, sister, aunt, grandmother, and friend. She was the epitome of strength. She gave purpose, love and support to those that needed it. Wisdom and storytelling to all those that would listen and inquire, and above all she was the bond of the family that brought and kept us together.

Mary Lou was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Florentino Garcia, daughter Mary Jane Montalbo, son Florentino Garcia Jr., granddaughter Valerie Rodriguez, brothers Larry Munoz, & Fred Munoz.

She is survived by, her sisters Adelina Yanez, Patsy Cortez, & Ramona Sedillo, her brothers Joe Munoz, & Jesse Munoz, daughters, Sylvia Castaneda, Ophelia Rodriguez, Lucy Dingas, & Linda Gagnon, her sons, Nat Garcia, & Raymond Garcia. 22 Grandchildren, 25 Great- grandchildren, 1 Great -Great granddaughter, and numerous nieces and nephews.

Visitation will begin at 5:00 pm Monday, January 25, 2016 at Taylor Bros Funeral Home in Bay City, TX. Services will be held at 11:00 am Tuesday, January 26, 2016 at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church with Msgr. Gerry Cernoch officiating. Interment will follow at Cedarvale Cemetery.
