On March 28, 2019 the Lord called our angel, Mary Margaret Rorex Hanna, home. She was born August 26,1929 in Lane City, TX to the late Robert Louis Rorex and Carrie Jeanette Sinclair Rorex.

Margaret, or referred to as Grandmommy, took pride in creating and maintaining a loving, joyful home for her children and later grandchildren. She enjoyed sewing and cooking Sunday dinners where many memories with loved ones were made and cherished. She was a member of The First Baptist Church in Sweeny for 52 years. In December of 1973 Margaret became a member of Eastern Star Chapter 873 in Sweeny TX. She held the title of Worthy Matron multiple terms, and was endowed in 2002 as a lifetime member.

Margaret is preceded in death by her husband of 59 years, George William "Buster" Hanna; one son ,George R. "Butch" Hanna; grandson Baby Lane, great- grandaughter Madison Leigh, and sister Louise Slaughter. She is survived by sons Johnny Hanna of Brazoria and Mark & Brenda Hanna of Sweeny; daughter Tyra Hanna of Sweeny; daughter-in-law Karen Hanna of Brazoria; sister Jacquie Johnson; grandchildren Jacquie (Shep) , Toya, Will(Glenda) , Josh (Shannon), Christie (Robert), Dyan, Bridger(Lauren), and Eric(Gloria);15 great grandchildren and 5 great-great grandchildren and numerous nieces nephews and cousins.

The family will receive friends and relatives 5:00pm-7:00pm Thursday, April 4 at Taylor Bros. Funeral Home in Bay City. Services are 2:00pm Friday, April 5, 2019 at First Baptist Church Sweeny, with Gerald Watkins officiating. Honorary pallbearers are Will Hanna, Josh Hanna, Bridger Hanna, Eric Lane, Heath Hein and Buster East.
