Obituary

Mary Burrows Gibbens, 96, of Sugar Valley stepped over into Heaven on Saturday, September 8, 2012 in Sweeny, TX. She was born March 23, 1916 in Manvel, TX to the late Mr. & Mrs. Burrows. Mary was a lifelong resident of Sugar Valley, a loving, wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, & great great grandmother, and a child of God. She was known to everyone as "Granny Gibbens".

Granny's first passion was Jesus Christ her Lord, and second was her family. She cooked the best Sunday Dinners, and she made sure everyone was always welcome. Granny also enjoyed cooking for the Tuesday Night Men's prayer Group. Her cooking was a way of showing her love for everyone, and everyone loved her cooking. She had a beautiful voice and loved to sing. Granny enjoyed sewing and making beautiful quilts. You could always find a baby calf in her back yard, that she was bottle-feeding, and she loved to show off. Granny will be greatly missed, however we know she is rejoicing in Heaven
