Mary Miller Gentry, 80, of Bay City, passed away Tuesday, December 30, 2008. She was born October 21, 1928 in Bay City to C. G. Miller Sr. and Ada Lee Hoffman Miller. She was a lifelong resident of Bay City, a member of the First Presbyterian Church and a member of the Eastern Star.

She is survived by her daughters: Priscilla Lee Gentry of Bay City and Liz Gentry of Bellaire; a son: Leon Gentry Jr. and wife Sherre of Lake Jackson; her sisters: Doris Rudder of Groesbeck, Beatrice Stewart of Salado and Barbara Toney of Van Vleck; a brother: C. G. Miller, Jr. of Dallas; by 4 grandchildren: Carolyn Davis, Mary Brink, Theresa Hoff and Jennifer Cummings; and by 12 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; by her husband: E. Leon Gentry, Sr.; a sister: Lois Mason; and a brother: Elroy Smith.

The family will receive visitors from 5 PM to 7 PM Thursday at Taylor Bros. Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 AM Friday, January 2, 2009 at the First Presbyterian Church of Bay City with Rev. Lacy Sellars, Jr. of Bellaire Presbyterian Church officiating. Interment will follow at Cedarvale Cemetery in Bay City.
