Marvin O'Daniel Talasek went home to be with Jesus on May 21, 2016. He was born a triplet July 24, 1939 in Rosenberg, Texas to the late William F. Talasek and Carrie Naiver Talasek. He grew up in Rosenberg with his triplet brothers Marion and Melvin, brother Bill and sister Evelyn.
Marvin graduated from Lamar High School and served in the US Army. He started in the construction business in 1958. He also did pipeline work in Alaska and commercial shrimping. He was an avid fisherman and hunter and was known for his generosity in taking people to catch fish.
Marvin was married to Elaine Coker Talasek of Rosenberg for 29 years. She preceded him in death as well as his sister Evelyn Talasek Rawlings and brothers Bill, Marion and Melvin Talasek. He is survived by daughters Carol and husband Billy Gibbs of Rosenberg, Kristi Blythe of Bay City and Kimberly and husband Robert Davis of Selkirk; grandchildren Hailey and Hanna Miller, Bryce and Brayden Davis, Kyle and Kevin Gibbs and Kelly Isbell and 6 great grandchildren.
The family will receive friends and relatives from 5PM until 7PM Tuesday at the funeral home. Funeral service will be 2:00 PM Wednesday, May 25, 2016 at Abundant Life Church with Rev. Greg McMullin officiating. Interment will follow at Matagorda Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Robert Davis, Mark Talasek, Mike Talasek, Pete Talasek, Billy Gibbs, Donnie Loftin, Johnathon Talasek and Buddy Webb. Honorary pallbearers will be Dennis Sbrusch, Gary Davis, Kevin Gibbs, Neil Jurek, Bryce Davis and Brayden Davis.
