Marvin Douglas Green, 94, of Bay City passed away December 30, 2006. He was born April 9, 1912 in Seguin, Texas to the late Henry Lee and Callie Surber Green. His family moved to Matagorda when he was a young child. He was a member of the Methodist Church and served in the US Army during WWII.

Survivors include his wife, Sybella Richers Green of Bay City; daughter Marilyn Penland & husband Aaron of Bay City; sons Marvin Douglas Green, Jr. & wife Aurora of Donna, TX and Peter Alan Green & wife Catherine of Bay City; brother Homer G. Green of Matagorda; grandchildren Karen Conroy, Andy Penland, Aimee Penland, & Paige Green and great grandchildren Cody Conroy and Cassidy Conroy. He was preceded in death by sisters Clara Lee Hauk & Dorothy Carlton and brothers Harold Green & Austin Green.

Funeral service will be 2:00 PM Tuesday, January 2, 2007 at Taylor Bros. Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Robert Richers officiating. Interment will follow at Cedarvale Cemetery in Bay City. Pallbearers will be Andy Penland, Pat Conroy, Rex Bass, Robert Jay Carlton, Robert L. Hauk and Joe Lawhon. The family will receive friends from 6pm-8pm Monday at Taylor Bros. Funeral Home.
