Martin M. Lopez, Sr., 79, of Bay City passed away Feb. 12, 2009. He was born May 27, 1929 in Karnes City, TX to the late Samuel and Agustina Montez Lopez. He was a member of Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church and a former Foreman for Pas-Key Construction.

A son, Martin Lopez, preceded him in death. Survivors include his wife Tomasa Martinez Lopez of Bay City; daughters Janey Riley of Bay City, Deliz Garcia of San Antonio & Jessica Sarabia of Bay City; sons Arnulfo Lopez of Houston, Martin M. Lopez, Jr. of Rosenberg and Oscar Lopez of Corpus Christi; sisters Lorenza Martinez and Maria Nanez both of Taft, TX; fifteen grandchildren and four great grandchildren.

A rosary will be recited at 7:00 PM Sunday, Feb. 15, 2009 at Taylor Bros. Funeral Home. Mass will be 10:00 AM Monday, Feb. 16, 2009 at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church with Rev. Gerry Cernoch officiating. Interment will follow at Roselawn Memorial Park. Pallbearers will be Arnulfo Lopez, Martin Lopez, Jr., Bobby Hawkins, Jr., Rudy Reyes, Anthony Sarabia and Marcel Martinez.
