Martha McKissick, 74, of Ashby passed away on Monday, January 21, 2013. She was born on January 20, 1939 in Bay City to the late Ernest & Trixie Hughes McIntosh. Martha was a very independent woman. She was a loving mother, grandmother, and great grandmother.

Martha is survived by her 3 loving daughters: Cindy Purswell & husband Adrian, Brenda Duke & husband John, and Pattie Lara; 7 grandchildren: Blaine Purswell, Eric Purswell & wife Shanna, Christopher Duke & wife Hannah, Brian Duke & wife Becca, Jonathan Lara, Heather Lara, and Ceasar Lara; 8 great grandchildren; sister: Helen Smith & husband Charlie; extended family Terrill & Jeanie Wilson and their girls; and numerous other loving family members. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband: Walter "Brother" McKissick; 6 brothers & sisters; and great granddaughter: Emma Rose Maldonado.

The family will receive visitors from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM Wednesday, January 23, 2013 at Taylor Bros. Funeral Home. A graveside service will be held 10:00 AM Thursday, January 24, 2013 at Hawley Cemetery. Pallbearers will be: Blaine Purswell, Eric Purswell, Christopher Duke, Brian Duke, Jonathan Lara, and Ceasar Lara. Honorary pallbearer will be Heather Lara.
