Martha Jane Etie, 97, of Bay City passed away May 8, 2014. She was born May 12, 1916 in Bay City, TX to the late Zachary DeLano and Frannie Jane Nuckols DeLano. She was a 1934 graduate of Bay City High School where she served as the 1st Drum Major and President of Girls Reserve. She owned and operated Etie's Café for 40 years and served as Tax A/C for the City of Bay City for 26 years. She loved to crochet and bake for everyone and was an active member of Nichols Street Church of Christ.

She was preceded in death by her husband Ashley Joseph Etie, son Kenneth Guynn and sister Maurine Cole. Survivors include sons Neil Warwick Etie & wife Gloria of Corpus Christi and Louie Etie & wife Mary of Bay City; grandchildren Cheyne Ashley Etie & wife Caity of Houston, Dustin John Etie & wife D'Nae of College Station, John Bartkowiak, Sharon Whitlock, Troy Harris and Larry Harris and Great Granddaughter Peyton Leigh Etie.

The family will receive friends and relatives from 5pm until 7pm Sunday at the funeral home. Funeral service will be 2:00 PM Monday, May 12, 2014 at the Nichols Street Church of Christ with Bro. Glenn Organ officiating. Interment will follow at Cedarvale Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Tony Maxwell, Seth Henrichsen, Caleb Henrichsen, Mark Holland, John Henrichsen and Scott Organ. Honorary pallbearers will be Doug Holland, Ernest Opella, Frank Morales, Michael Mercer and John Bartkowiak.
