Mark E. Dreymala, age 66, passed away peacefully on January 13, 2026. He was born December 6, 1959, in Houston, TX to the late Leonard E. and Frances (Frankie) Kindred Dreymala.
He is survived by his daughter, Shelbie Marie Dreymala; 3 grandchildren, Auvyana Faith Guardiola, Aubreylle Renee Guardiola, and Taejon Amani Bruce; and 2 sisters, Linda, her husband Bill Day, their children Christopher (Molly) and Carson; and Diane Dreymala and her husband Jim Findlay.
Yes, Mark’s birthplace was in Houston, TX but he and his sisters were raised by their devoted and caring parents in Port Lavaca, TX where he absolutely fell in love with the outdoors. He played Little League baseball, was active in Boy Scouts and 4H, but spent as many waking hours as possible fishing, camping, hunting, and throwing frisbees on the beach. He graduated from Calhoun High School in 1978 and ventured “inland” to Waco, TX where he attended trade school at Texas State Technical Institute (TSTI) and obtained a degree in Diesel and Construction Equipment Mechanics in 1979.
Desperately missing his fishing, camping, hunting and beach time activities, Mark moved from Waco, TX (with degree in hand) back to the South Texas coastal region where he sought out, found and built a successful 40-year professional career in Industrial Plant Maintenance, contributing his expertise to the South Texas Nuclear Plant in Matagorda County and Nanya Plastics in Wharton, TX. His career path allowed him to live close to the “coastal waters” that brought him immense joy.
Mark loved his family, friends, work, motorcycle and the great outdoors. He will be remembered for his unwavering kindness, adventurous spirit, and the joy he found in nature and family gatherings. His legacy lives on in the hearts of those who knew and loved him.
The family will receive friends and relatives beginning at 1:00 PM, Friday, January 23rd, 2026 at Taylor Bros. Funeral home in Bay City, TX. Funeral services will follow viewing at 2:00 PM.
