Marion Clyde DeRoch Hudson, 90, passed away on January 7, 2013 in Bay City, Texas. She was born September 21, 1922 in El Campo Texas and was the oldest of four daughters born to Marguerite and Clyde DeRoch. In 1940 she married her childhood sweetheart Edward "Poochie" Hudson who preceded her in death in 1994 after 54 happy years of marriage. She was a devoted wife, special mother, adoring grandmother, delighted great grandmother, aunt, sister and faithful friend.
Marion loved nature and the great outdoors, sewing, quilting, and her beloved church St. Marks Episcopal. She was a faithful member for over 72 years. Marion was sentimental and put high value on her special times with family members and loved ones. People and creating memories were important to her and those that knew and loved her knew that they were a priority. She had very fond memories of her traveling adventures including a trip to England, Colorado and fun getaways with her three grandchildren at various stages of their lives. Marion was great at telling stories and passing along family memories that will long be treasured. She will be greatly missed but we know that she is now rejoicing in heaven.
She is survived by: daughter, Carrilee Hudson Jelensperger of Knoxville, Tennessee; son, Edward "Bubba" Hudson and wife Betsy of Houston, Texas; grandson, Alain Harvey and wife Penny of Houston, Texas; granddaughter-in-love, Christina Acosta Harvey of Houston, Texas; granddaughters, Wendy Hudson Petersen and husband Jon of Austin, Texas and Jamie Hudson Wright and husband Brad of Sugar Land, Texas; nine great-grandchildren, Conor Harvey of San Antonio, Gareth Harvey of Houston, Elizabeth Petersen, Hudson Petersen, SaraGrace Petersen and Wesley Petersen of Austin, and Avery Wright, William Wright and Walker Wright of Sugar Land.
