Mario P. Rodriguez, age 65, passed away on June 13, 2026, after a short illness. He was born on January 16, 1961, in El Campo, Texas, to the late Frances and Maurilio Rodriguez. He lived a life defined by hard work, generosity, and unwavering devotion to his family and friends.
Mario was employed for 35 years by Formosa Plastics, where he worked as a Chemical Operator. He took great pride in his work and cherished the friendships and relationships he built with his work family throughout his career.
Mario found joy in the simple pleasures of life. He loved fishing, hunting, and cooking, and he was happiest when surrounded by family in the kitchen preparing meals for those he loved. His generous spirit was known by all who met him. If someone needed help, Mario was always the first person to lend a hand. His kindness, selflessness, and willingness to help others left a lasting impression on everyone who was fortunate enough to know him.
Above all else, Mario was a devoted family man. He treasured time spent with his loved ones and was especially proud of being a grandfather. His granddaughter brought him immense joy, and he cherished every moment spent with her.
Mario was preceded in death by his parents, Frances and Maurilio Rodriguez, and his sister, Nita Diaz. He is survived by his loving wife, Veronica Rodriguez; daughter, Nikki Rodriguez (David); son, Adrian Rodriguez (Marie); beloved granddaughter, Mia Rodriguez; sister, GiGi Rodriguez; father-in-law and mother-in-law, Pete and Beva Estrello; nephew, JD Diaz (Jessica) and family; niece, Amy Freeze (Kody) and family; along with numerous extended family members and dear friends who will miss him greatly.
Mario’s legacy of love, generosity, hard work, and devotion to family will live on in the hearts of all who knew him. Though he will be deeply missed, the memories he created and the lives he touched will be cherished forever.
