Marilyn Ann Barlow Brown, 70, of Van Vleck, passed away Friday, March 12, 2010 in Houston, TX. She was born May 13, 1939 in El Campo, TX to the late Lois Ann Herreth Barlow and Charles Delbert Barlow. She was a life long resident of Matagorda County. She was the treasurer and an active member of the First United Methodist Church of Van Vleck, a member of the Pilot Club, and a member of the Eastern Star. She retired for the County of Matagorda as a bookkeeper for the County Auditors Office.

She is survived by her husband of 49 years: Jack Odell Brown of Van Vleck; her daughter: Sharilyn Ann Ross & husband Darron of Bay City; her brother: Joel "Bubba" Barlow of Tomball; and her grandchildren: Blaine Thomas Ross and Jordan Leeann Ross. She was preceded in death by her parents.

The family will receive visitors from 6 PM to 8 PM Monday at Taylor Bros. Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM Tuesday, March 16, 2010 at the First United Methodist Church of Van Vleck with Rev. Martha Girling officiating. Interment will follow at Roselawn Memorial Park in Van Vleck, TX. Pallbearers will be Robert Noster, Ronnie Noster, Jim Brown, Bob Brown, Gayle Brown, and Allan Brown.
