Marie George, 79, of Bay City passed away September 13, 2016. She was born September 17, 1936 in Clay County, Texas to the late Jesse L. Wallace and Velma Owen Wallace.

She worked for many years at Cole Plumbing in Bay City and was involved in many facets of the community including VFW Post 2438 Ladies Auxiliary, Pilot Club, Women's Crisis Center, and Fraternal Order of Eagles Ladies Auxiliary but her true passion was being a member of the Quilt Guild.

She was preceded in death by her husband Harold W. George, granddaughter Tami Dabney, sister Gladys Moore and brother Johnny Wallace.

Survivors include daughters Karen Crane & husband Glenn of East Bernard, TX and Robin Davis of Bay City; sons H. Wayne George II & wife Karen of Midfield and James W. George of Bay City; sister Dorothy Bass of Georgia; grandchildren Amber Walters, Danny Crane, Wayne George III, Chelsea Capak, Maggie Capak, Cody Capak, Michelle Zogg, Kacye Crowley, Wyatt George and Robert George and 12 great grandchildren.

Following her wishes, her family will have private services.
