Maria Guadalupe Martinez, 75, of Bay City, passed away March 24, 2017. She was born December 12, 1941 in Refugio, TX to the late Manuel and Fermina Hernandez Figerova.

Maria liked doing puzzles and going to garage sales. She loved being around her grandchildren.

Maria is preceded in death by her parents; brother Daniel Figerova and grandson Gilbert Cortez She is survived by her husband of 60 years, Felix Martinez; children, Felix Martinez, Jr. of New Orleans, LA, Rosemary Peterson of Arvin, CA, Julie Cortez of Katy, TX, Andres Martinez of Bay City, Christina Ramos of Houston, TX, Irma Villalobos of Houston, TX, Juan Manuel Martinez of Bay City; grandsons Andy B. Martinez and Joey Martinez who she raised as her own children and 15 other grandchildren.

The family will receive friends and relatives 3:00pm-8:00pm Thursday, March 30 with the recitation of the Holy Rosary at 6:00pm at Taylor Bros. Funeral Home. Mass of the Resurrection will be 10:00am Friday, March 31, 2017 at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church with Monsignor Gerry Cernoch celebrant. Interment will follow at Cedarvale Cemetery in Bay City. Pallbearers are Julian Rodriguez, Ruben Ramos, Jr., Andy Martinez, Raymond Ramos, Joe Martinez and Joey Martinez.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Legion of Mary of Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church.
