Maria Guadalupe Garcia, 71, of Pasadena, TX passed away Thursday, January 3, 2008 at Pasadena Bayshore Hospital. She was born January 14, 1936 in Mexico City, Mexico to Refujio Perez and Maria Dolores Gonzales Perez. Formerly of Bay City, she has resided in Pasadena for the past 4 years and was a member of St. Juan Diago Catholic in Pasadena.

She is survived by her husband: Amado Mera Garcia of Pasadena; her daughters: Guadalupe Estrada and Maria Isabel Medina, both of Mexico, Socorra Ramona Ramirez, Cecilia Saucedo and Aurora Garcia, of Bay City; by her sons: Francisco Javier Garcia and Jose Manuel Garcia of Mexico, Pedro Garcia of Bay City, Sergio Garcia of Pasadena and Armando Augustin Garcia of Rosharon; by a sister: Maria DeJesus Perez of Mexico; by her brothers: Raul Perez of Brownsville, Luis Perez of Tennessee, and Juan Perez of Mexico; and by 25 grandchildren and 6 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents: Refujio & Maria Dolores Perez; and by a daughter: Judy Garcia.

The Rosary will be held at 7:00 PM Sunday, January 6, 2008 at Taylor Bros. Funeral Home. The Funeral Mass will be held at 2:00 PM Monday, January 7, 2008 at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church with Rev. Gerry Cernoch officiating. Interment will be at Roselawn Memorial Park in Van Vleck.
