Margie "Mimi" Legg Quinn, 85, of Bay City, Texas gained her heavenly angel wings as she truly was an angel here on Earth. She went to be with her Lord on a beautiful Sunday morning, January 24, 2016. She was born September 9, 1930 in Markham, TX to the late Richard Hubert Legg and Carrie Lowe Legg. She worked at Goodrich, Jerry's Flying Service, and Western Gulf. She was a caretaker by nature, as she cared for all that she encountered.
She was preceded in death by one son, Rex Quinn, Jr. and her husband of 61 years, Wayne Rex Quinn. Survivors include: her son Dick Quinn; grandchildren Brooke Burns & husband Taylor, Hallie Filis & husband Daniel; great grandchildren Camille & Quinn Burns and Rhys Filis. Sisters, Norma "Baby" McDonald and Billie Joye "Nana" Suffling; extended family included the Birkner, Wright, Maglitto, Wimberly, and Dennard families. Additional loved ones include: E.T. Hubbard and family, Jessica Wied and family, A.J. McCreary and Kolt and Savannah Kelly along with numerous nieces and nephews. She was also always surrounded by a host of friends.
Her hobbies included volunteering, reading, playing games, and most importantly loving her family. Her family and friends were her world and she enjoyed time visiting and listening while sipping on a cup of hot coffee. Margie is a member of First Baptist Church in Bay City and especially loved her Sunday school class. She was also, a member of the MRMC auxiliary. She took pride in being a Pink Lady for over 20 years.
The family will receive friends and relatives from 5PM until 7PM Friday at the funeral home. Funeral services will be 2:00 PM Saturday, January 30, 2016 at First Baptist Church with Dr. Mike Zimmerman officiating. Interment will follow at Roselawn Memorial Park. Pallbearers will be Dr. Crayden Dennard, Mark Dennard, Mike Maglitto, Johnny Wikoff, David Cartwright, Buzzie Romine, A.J. McCreary and Lamar Evans. Honorary pallbearers will be Fred Law, Louie Ziegenhals, Denis O'Brien, Wyatt Birkner, J.W. Kelley and Otis "Bubba" Birkner.
The family would like to give special thanks to the staff at MRMC, Dr. Chao at Kindred along with the respiratory team, Uche, Kim, and Cindy in ICU. To our family friend and caretaker Willie Bonner, thank you very much for helping Margie when needed.
