Margie Evelyn Cooper Johs was born August 23, 1926, passed at the age of 89. She married Frank A. Johs of Palacios on September 19, 1946 in Blessing and made their home in Deutschburg. Her parents wer George and Ima Ivey Cooper of Palacios. She was blessed with three children, Robert W. Johs (Shelley) of Deutschburg, Dianne Bowers (Walter) of Palacios, and Mary Van Borssum (Bob) of Deutschburg.

She adored her grandchildren Aaron Johs (Rose), Adam Johs (Cassie), Rebecca Bowers Pavlat (Kenny), Kevin Bowers (Brandy), Darrell Bowers (Lindsey), Erich Remlinger (Kristin), Amy Strong Collins (Nathan Striegler), Amanda Strong Hassell (Brad), and step-grandson, Bobby Van Borssum (Brianna). She had 22 great grandchildren and 1 great-great grandchild.

Her siblings are Felton Cooper (Jeanne), Kathleen Peerbolt, Paul Cooper (Frankie Faye), Dorothy Collins (Claude), and Shirley Rogers (Carl).

Preceded in death by husband, parents, brothers Felton Cooper and wife Jeanne and Paul Cooper, sister Kathleen Peerbolt, brothers-in-law Claude (Jr) Collins and Carl (Pee Wee) Rogers and great grandson Weston Bowers.

Visitation will be 5:00-7:00pm Tuesday, May 10 at Palacios Funeral Home. Services will be 10:00am Wednesday May 11, 2016 at First United Methodist Church in Palacios. Interment will follow at Palacios Cemetery. Pallbearers are Aaron Johs, Adam Johs, Erich Remlinger, Darrell Bowers, Kevin Bowers, Kenny Pavlat and Nathan Striegler. Honorary pallbearers are Brad Hassell and Bobby Borssum who will be with us in prayer.

The family would like to thank The Home Place of Ganado for the compassionate and loving care they gave our Mother during the past few months. We would also like to thank Harbor Hospice for their care and guidance. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to First United Methodist Church of Palacios or Harbor Hospice of Victoria.
