Obituary

Margarita Carrion, 87, of Bay City, passed away May 20, 2015. She was born February 22, 1928 in El Maton, Texas to Sebastian and Petra Benavides. Margarita known as Guelite or Tia Mage by many more than just her family lived in Bay City for most of her life. She married Castulo Carrion when she was 16 years old. She was a wonderful mother, grandmother, great-grandmother to all. She was always willing to help people and family was always first no matter how extended. She loved to travel to Mexico to visit family there. Margarita was a #1 Vicente Fernandez fan and mariachi music was her favorite. She loved her little dog, Princess, who was her beloved pet. She was a member of Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church in Bay City.

Margarita is preceded in death by her parents, and her husband Castulo Carrion. By her brothers and sisters, Gregorio Benavides, Manuela, Benavides, Teresa Perez, Luis Benavides, Juan Benavides, Tommy Benavides Sr., and Susana Vargas-Benavides. She is survived by her daughter, Lydia Diaz and her husband, Javier of Bay City; special sister in law, Lupe Benavides; grandchildren, Maggie Monroy, Rosario Resendez, Christi Lara (Ricardo Lara) and Crystal Locke (Jean Paul Perrin); great-grandchildren, Alexis Monroy, Karla Monroy, Angela Monroy and Ricardo Lara, Jr. Also by Bruno Diaz whom she considered a son, Susie Brito, her special great niece, and many more family and friends.

Visitation will be from 5-7pm Thursday, May 21, 2015 with a 6:30pm Rosary. Funeral mass will be 10 am Friday, May 22, 2015 at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church with the Msgr. Gerry Cernoch officiating.
Interment will follow at Cedarvale Cemetery in Bay City. Pallbearers are to be Curtis Locke, John Benavides, Enrique Brito, Tommy Benavides, Arthur Benavides, Joe Gonzales, Arthur Benavides Jr. and Ray Benavides. Honorary pallbearers are to be Javier Diaz, Bruno Diaz, Terrance Flagg, Enrique Lara, Fernando Lara, Jean Paul Perrin, and Matthew Benavides.
