Margaret Ann Cook West, 73, of Bay city passed away February 28, 2024.  She was born October 17, 1950 in Floresville, TX to the late Cyrus LaFayette Cook and Christine Margaret Harrison Cook.

She was known for her love for her family, her unwavering faith, and her creative spirit. She dedicated her life to shaping young minds and instilling values of kindness and knowledge. Her impact as an educator, mother, and grandmother was evident to all who knew her.

In addition to her teaching career, Margaret was a devout Christian who found solace and strength in her faith. Her love for God and her commitment to living a life of compassion and service inspired those around her.

Outside of her professional and spiritual life, Margaret was a loving grandmother who cherished spending time with her grandchildren. She shared her passion for art and creativity with them, leaving behind a legacy of imagination and joy.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brother C. L. Cook.
Survivors include sons Matthew West and his wife Cindy; and Mark West and his wife Lynsie; brother Donald Cook and his wife Gracie; sister-in-law Melissa Cook; grandchildren Amber West-Kirkland and husband Olin, Braden Foster, Justina Lashlee, Louis Carter West, Aaliaha Means, Brenden West, and Emery West.

Visitation will begin at 9:00 AM Monday, March 4, 2024 at the First Baptist Church.  Funeral service will be at 10:00 AM with Dr. Mike Zimmerman officiating.
