Margaret "Maudie" Rigby Wirth, 88, of Bay City passed away July 16, 2007. She was born June 14, 1919 in Port Lavaca, Texas to the late Murray Dallas Rigby and Esther Robbie Polka Rigby. She had been a resident of Bay City since 1945, was a member of First Presbyterian Church, past president of The Women's Golf Association, past president of The Women of the Church, former Presbyterian Woman of the Year, and volunteered for the Pink Ladies Auxiliary at Matagorda General Hospital for many years.
Survivors include daughters and sons-in-law Nancy & Richard Knapik of Bay City and Susan & Prentice Owen of Damon; one granddaughter Haley Owen of Damon; nieces Ella Marie Duncan of Victoria and Karen Rigby of La Porte and nephew Louis R. Rigby, Jr. of La Porte. She was preceded in death by her husband, Harry E. Wirth in 1987.
Funeral service will be 2:00 PM Thursday, July 19, 2007 at the First Presbyterian Church with Rev. John-Nelson Pope officiating. Interment will follow at Roselawn Memorial Park. Pallbearers will be James M. Allen, Louis Rigby, Jr., Gaylan Duncan, Jack Conner, Frank Seaman, John Reinke, Crayden Dennard, Rick Johnson and Mark Seaman.
