Margaret Ann Darnell Jurek left this earthly world at age 73. She is now at peace in the comfort of our Lord.

Born June 14, 1951, surrounded by family she passed away October 12, 2024 after many health problems.

Margaret graduated from Bay City High School. She married the love of her life, Louis ' Bubba' Jurek and became a fine partner for him and mother to the two sons created from their union.

A hard worker from sunup to sundown and beyond, Margaret was a great cook, canner, housekeeper, and gardener of vegetables and flowers. She loved fishing and traveling, two things she didn't do often enough as helping run Jurek Smokehouse took much time and effort. Easy to smile, she enjoyed meeting the many people who've walked through the doors of their business over the many years.

Margaret gave everything, especially her love, to her family. Survivors include her husband of 53 years Louis Jurek, son Jason, wife Melissa and granddaughter Abigail Jurek of Van Vleck and son Neil, wife Courtney, son Reid Jurek of Markham and Dakotah Furrh of Bay City, sisters-in-law Frances Louise Rush of Markham and Betty Jean Fisher of Bay City, brother-in-law John and wife Judy Jurek of Brownwood, Texas and numerous nephews and families as well.

She was preceded in death by her parents Coye Ray and Margaret Louise Hall Darnell, and recently her beloved brother Terry Ray Darnell, whom she cared for most of his life.

Visitation will be held Wednesday, October 16, 2024 beginning at 1pm at Taylor Brothers Funeral Home, Bay City. Services begin at 2pm with the Reverend Louis Rush officiating. Cremation will follow.
