Marcus "Mark" Parten, 56, went to be with his Lord Thursday, August 19, 2010. Mark was born September 11, 1953 in Bay City, Texas to Robert S. and Edith Edmonds Parten. Mark was a happy child, giving much love to his family. Mark is now experiencing through the hope we have in Christ an eternal life in heaven of no pain or suffering, walking the streets of gold asking God many questions. Mark is survived by a family who loved him dearly, his father, Robert S. Parten of Carthage, Texas; his mother Edith Hannah of Sweeny, Texas; his sisters, Karen Harmon of Fort Pierce, Florida, and Sharon Perry of Apache Junction, Arizona, numerous other relatives and friends. He is preceded in death by his Maternal grandparents, Marcus E. and V. Ruth Edmonds; and his Paternal grandparents, Ray and Beatrice Parten; by his brother, Steve Parten and his nephew, Michael Lockerby. A graveside service will be held on Monday, August 23, 2010 at 10:00 A.M. at the Sweeny Cemetery in Sweeny, Texas.
