Manuel Padia, 84, of Wharton, TX died June 22, 2005 at the Gulf Coast Medical Center in Wharton, TX. He was born December 27, 1920 in Hungerford, TX to the late Pedro and Josephine Gonzales Padia. He was a member of Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Catholic Church in Wharton, and a lifelong resident of Wharton.

Survivors include: 2 sons and a daughter-in-law: Roy & Elva Padia of San Antonio, TX, and Manuel Padia, Jr. of Wharton; sister: Susie Valdez of Pasadena, TX; brothers: Tom Padia of Wharton, TX, Ramon Padia of Galveston, TX, and Pete Padia of Rosenberg; 6 grandchildren and 19 great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife: Sofia Padia; daughter: Mary Ann Pena; sisters: Janie Quintana and Mary Cisneros; brothers: Joe and Larry Padia; and 2 grandchildren.
