Mamie "Nannie" Ellis of Bay City passed away March 24, 2008 at the age of 94. She was born Sept. 13, 1913 in Nacogdoches to the late Levi & Nancy Summers Henderson. She is survived by son Jack & wife Tonya Ellis of Bay City; daughters Betty & husband Jim Yarborough of Vanderbilt, TX, Ida & husband Ray Curnutte of Onalaska, TX and Kathy & husband Edwin Anderle of Point Comfort, TX; honorary son John Tweedle of Bay City; 21 grandchildren; 40 great grandchildren & 36 great-great grandchildren whom she loved with all of her heart. She was preceded in death by her husband E. A. "Pawpaw" Ellis; daughters Mary Medlin & Lenora Janak and grandson Daniel Ellis.

Funeral service will be 10:00 AM Thursday, March 27, 2008 at Taylor Bros. Funeral Home with Rev. Johnny Green officiating. Interment will follow at Cedarvale Cemetery in Bay City. Pallbearers will be Ronnie Best, Jonathan Medlin, Dennis Ellis, C. J. Howton, Jason Burrier, Rick Janak & Patrick Anderle. All remaining grandchildren will serve as honorary pallbearers.
