Margaret Emily Turpin Nias, 92, of Matagorda passed away Sunday, August 26, 2012 in Bay City. She was born October 3, 1919 in Houston to the late James David & Mary Elizabeth Wilson Turpin. Margaret had 3 sisters: Mary E., Edith R., & Edna A. and 1 brother: Jams David Turpin. She was a Dress Marker, a resident of Matagorda for 30 years, and loved to care for many different kinds of animals.
Margaret married Haig Pershing Nias in Houston on April 21, 1972. They spent 21 years together before his death on November 1, 1993. Many nieces and nephews, great nieces, and great nephews survive her.
Margaret was buried in Matagorda Cemetery next to her late husband Haig Pershing Nias.
