Madge Dorsey Morton, age 91, passed away peacefully on Monday, September 17, 2012. Madge was born on the 19th of January 1921 in Duck, West Virginia to the late Newton & Rose Mollohan Jones. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother great grandmother and friend.

She loved her church, First Baptist Church, where she was a member for over 45 years. Madge was a past member of the Pink Ladies at Matagorda General Hospital where she was also the cashier for 20 years. Retiring in 1985, she and her loving husband, Gaston, traveled to many exciting places.

Madge is survived by her 2 daughters: Sandy Bell of San Antonio, and Sherry & Steve Barton of Bay City, her grandchildren: Kendra Bell, Stacy Bell, Lori Barton Knutson and husband Jason, Kim Barton Schneider and husband Gaven and Logan Barton and her great grand children: Ty and Eva Schneider and Lily Knutson. She was preceded in death by her parents and husband Gaston Morton.

The funeral service will be held at 2:00 PM Thursday, September 20, 2012 at First Baptist Church of Bay City with Dr. Mike Zimmerman officiating. Interment will follow at Roselawn Memorial Park in Van Vleck. Pallbearers will be: Steve Barton, Logan Barton, Gaven Schneider, and Jason Knutson.

The family extends special thanks to the staff and friends of The Legacy Assisted Living for making her life so fulfilling and her final weeks so peaceful. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to First Baptist Church or Bay City Public Library.
