Obituary

Lydia Lillian Zemanek, age 89, of Blessing, Texas passed away peacefully with her children by her side in Victoria, Texas on June 21, 2008 after a short hospital stay. She was born on December 1, 1918 in Birch, Texas to the late Ludwig and Clara Junek. Lydia married the late Victor Zemanek on September 1, 1943 in Blessing. In the early 1940's, they bought a cotton farm and moved to Blessing where they raised their nine children and lived together for 52 years.

Lydia spent her early married years helping her husband establish a successful farming operation while raising her children and staying involved in their school and after-school activities. In retirement, she enjoyed watching her family grow with each additional grandchild or great-grandchild. Lydia was a member of St. Peter's Catholic Church in Blessing. She was a devout Catholic and lived her daily life as a Christian. Lydia was a kind, caring person who loved her family and friends and took great joy in spending time with them. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and sister. Lydia lived a full and rich life with her family and friends. We take great comfort in knowing that she is now at peace in Heaven with her Lord.

Lydia's life was centered around her family to whom she was totally devoted. She was preceded in death by her husband, Victor Zemanek, her daughter, Rose Marie Snyder, and her son-in-law, Donnie Genzer.
