Luella Bender Ledwig, 78, of Bay City, Texas passed on to be with her heavenly Father, Wednesday August 2, 2006 in Houston, Texas. She was born February 8, 1928 in Cat Springs, TX. to the late Albert R. Bender and Vera Garling Bender. She was a member of Calvary Baptist Church and she was very involved in many local organizations of Matagorda County. She loved her family and loved to serve others.

She is survived by her loving husband of 58 years Ignatz Joe Ledwig of Bay City, daughter and her husband; Linda Sue and Jimmy Richardson of Fredericksburg, TX., sons; Ignatz Joe Ledwig, Jr. of Cleburne, TX., Donald Ray Ledwig of Bay City. Sisters; Dorothy Fojtik of Galveston, Ruby Lee Dierks, Vera Gates both of Kingman, AZ. Brothers; Frank Bender of Brenham, TX. , Harry Bender of Green Valley, AZ., Albert Bender, Jr. of Madisonville, TX. , and Earl Bender of Kingman, AZ. and their families. She is also survived by her grandchildren; Jill Tabor and her husband Russell, Stuart Richardson, Bobbe Smalley and her husband Jeff, Brice Ledwig and his wife Maria, and Zach Williamson IV and her great grandchildren; Hailey, Courtney and Jayce Smalley, Zach Williamson, V. and Joshua Tabor. And her extended family and many , many friends. She is preceded in death by her parents, sisters; Bernice Bender, Anna Mae Coker, and Betty Jean Harvey, and brothers; Vernon, Wilburn and Lester Bender.

Funeral service will be held at 2:00 P.M. Sunday Aug. 6, 2006 at Calvary Baptist Church with Rev. Chester Sassman officiating. Interment will follow at Roselawn Memorial Park in Van Vleck. There will be family visitation Saturday from 6:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M.
