Ludie Elizabeth Eaton Inge, 96, born March 16, 1914, in Hays County, Texas, died Saturday, September 11, 2010, in Bay City, Texas. Ann, as she preferred to be called, was preceded in death by her parents, Ausburn Hardy & Margie Salter Eaton, and by a brother, Emzy Ausburn Eaton. She is survived by her daughter, Marjorie Inge Griffith & her husband, W. Barton Griffith, M.D.; by three grandchildren, Michael D. Griffith & wife, Allison, Steve M. Griffith & wife Laura, Karen G. Duffy & husband, Brian; by eight great-grandchildren, Michael & Andrew Griffith, Brittan, Brooke and Rebecca Griffith, Brian, Emily, and Matthew Duffy.
Ann was a member of the United Daughters of the Confederacy, Daughters of the American Revolution, Jamestown Society, Dames of the Signers of the Magna Carta, and National Association of Retired Federal Employees. She loved growing beautiful flowers, executing exquisite needlepoint, tracing her family tree, and wearing beautiful shoes.
The family would like to thank the Legacy Assisted Living for their loving care the past 5 years and the First United Methodist Church ministry that has held church services every Wednesday morning at the Legacy Assisted Living "Church in the Hallway."
Ann will be laid to rest next to her parents in Oakwood Cemetery, Waco, Texas at 11:00 AM Tuesday, September 14, 2010 with Rev. David Cozart officiating. The family will be receiving visitors from 6:00 PM to 7:00 PM Monday, September 13, 2010 at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the First United Methodist Church of Bay City.
