Lucille "Lucy" Danner Zackary Miller, 97, passed away on January 15, 2018. She was born August 11, 1920 in Kings, Arkansas to John E. and Linnie Munn Danner.

Lucy was an active member in the First United Methodist Church of Sweeny. She served on numerous church committees and enjoyed baking the communion bread until shortly before her death. She belonged to Beta Sigma Phi for over 50 years and considered each of her sisters to be family. Lucy belonged to the Garden Club, the Civic Club and enjoyed serving as a Pink Lady at the Sweeny Hospital. She loved her dear friends in the Birthday Club and was honored to be chosen Woman of the Year in 1987 by the Sweeny Chamber of Commerce.

Lucy is preceded in death by her parents; husbands, J. Ethridge (Zack) Zackary and Ruben E. (Red) Miller; brother C. Eugene Danner, stepson, Lyn Edward Retherford, step sons-in-law, Mike West and David Casey. She is survived by her children: LeNora (Walter) Dollar of Edna, TX, C.A. (Janette) Zackary of Houston, TX, and Debra Zackary of Sweeny, TX; her beloved grandchildren: Denise (Mike) Hlavaty, John (Joey) Zackary, David (Lori) Dollar, and Stephen (Jennifer) Zackary; her adored great-grandchildren: Lance Hlavaty, Lyndey (Carson) Flora, Drake, Brooke, and Drew Dollar, Cal Zackary, Katherine, Ethridge and William Zackary. Lucy is also survived by her stepchildren: Sandy Casey, Sharon West, Glenn D. (Patty) Retherford; step-grandchildren: Matthew West, Brandy (Wade) Vrana, Shanelle (Buck) Hensen, Jade (Amber) Casey, Destiny Casey, JR Retherford, Stacey Retherford, Bryan Retherford and Braden Retherford; and 22 step great-grandchildren.

A memorial service celebrating her life will be held 2:00pm Saturday, January 27, 2018 at the First United Methodist Church in Sweeny.
