IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Lucille Zimmerman
Maxwell
April 1, 1944 – February 2, 2024
Lucille Joyce Maxwell, 79, of Bay City, Texas, passed away peacefully on Friday, February 2, 2024, in Galveston, Texas with her children and grandchildren along her side. She was born on April 1, 1944, in San Antonio, Texas, to the late William Franklin Zimmerman and Emily Anna Fillipp. She was raised and graduated from El Campo Tx.
Lucille was a kind and soft-hearted lady who fought a yearlong battle with Cancer. She was often shy at times or could just have been the fact that most of our family is very loud and outspoken. Her favorite flower was a rose. Her favorite perfume was Shalimar by Guerlain. A very old fragrance, not always easy to find. She loved dancing. She loved doing crosswords and spending time with her family. When she and her sister Geraldine would go off without supervision you never knew what to expect. They sometimes would go clothes shopping and come home with a car. Their shenanigans never surprised us. She worked at Golden Corral for 25 years and loved all her customers and time there. It was still her favorite place to eat. Lucille was an amazing strong lady and will be well missed and loved by all who had the pleasure of knowing her.
She was preceded in death by her parents William and Emily Zimmerman; husband Robert Lee Maxwell; sister Geraldine Anna Anderson and brother Franklin William Zimmerman. Lucille is survived by her sister Ailene Kestel; daughters, Sonja Ledwig, Pamela Thompson, Jaime Snyder, Janet Maxwell, Holly Buller and husband Billy; grandsons Dayne Ledwig, Riley Snyder, Chance Thompson, Billy Buller III, Jeffery Aron Brown, and Daryn Croft; granddaughters Paitan Hassell and Tex, Jada Snyder, Camryn Thompson, Jennifer Paige Brown and Jazmine Smith; great granddaughter Remy Lou Teutsch; honorary granddaughter Rayne Gilmer, and numerous nieces and nephews.
