Visitation for Mary Lucille Bailey Hendershot Bell, 94, is scheduled for 5:00 PM until 7:00 PM Monday at Taylor Bros. Funeral Home in Bay City and A graveside service will be held 2:00 PM Tuesday, November 18, 2014 at the Sweeny Cemetery with Rev. Mike Patterson officiating.

Mrs. Bell, known as Lucille, was born to Edward Bailey and Martha Cooper Bailey in Sweeny, TX on September 5, 1920. Lucille was blessed to pass peacefully at her home November 15, 2014 due to the combined efforts of many family members, friends and dedicated caregivers.

She was a member of Cedar Lane Baptist Church. She worked for many years as a nurse and a teacher to special needs students. After her retirement she spent many years caring for her special needs sister, Ada Bailey until Ada's passing.

Lucille enjoyed gardening, living a self-sufficient lifestyle and caring for her numerous animals, including her little dog Jojo.

Mrs. Bell was preceded in death by her parents, nine siblings, her husband Hubert Marion Bell and Son-in-law John Henry Burkett who helped care for her for many years and grandson John Randall Burkett.

Survivors include daughter Barbara Burkett, son Lloyd Hendershot and wife Phyllis of Sweeny, daughter Glenda Gerard and husband Jerry of Halifax, PA, 6 grandchildren, 14 great grandchildren and 21 great-great grandchildren.
