Louise Ann Johnson, 90, of College Station ended her earthly journey and joined her Savior on Saturday May 18, 2024. She was born July 21, 1933 in Okmulgee, Oklahoma to the late James A. Boden and Bessie McAllister Boden. Her family moved to Sweeny in 1948 when her father was transferred to the Old Ocean Phillips plant. She graduated from Sweeny High School in 1950 attending secretarial school before working for Phillips Petroleum 1951. Louise married Edward Earl Johnson April 17, 1952, a few days before he left for the Korean War, and they shared 55 years together.
In 1970 she decided to pursue a nursing degree graduating in 1974. She was a neo-natal night nurse at Brazosport hospital for over 25 years. After retirement, Louise became an avid Bible Study Fellowship participant as well as several other Bible studies. She was a charter member of Beta Sigma Phi (1953), Den Mother and member of Sweeny Methodist church for many years. Louise loved storytelling and writing; she wrote many stories for her grandchildren and wrote daily in her planner and devotional books in her beautiful penmanship. She worked puzzles into the wee hours of the night or searched catalogs for the perfect gifts.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband Edward Earl Johnson and sister Carolyn Sue Boden. Survivors include sons Timothy Edward Johnson (Cindy) of College Station and Richard Eric Johnson (Brenda) of Blanco; sisters Nancy Grisham of Bay City and Judy Mercill of Arlington VA; grandchildren Adrienne Johnson of Vancouver BC, Niles Johnson of College Station and Chelsea Johnson of College Station as well as nieces, nephews and numerous friends.
Funeral services will be at 10:00 AM Saturday, May 25, 2024 at Taylor Bros. Funeral Home. Interment will follow at Roselawn Memorial Park in Van Vleck with a reception afterwards at Wesley Hall, Bay City Methodist Church.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given to Scottish Rite Children's Hospital or Shriner's Children's Hospital.
