Obituary

Louise "Mawzy" Baker Davis Callaway, 90, of Bay City went to her heavenly home on Saturday, December 29, 2012. She was born on October 31, 1922 in Bay City to the late Samuel Houston & Nettie Tidwell Baker. Mawzy was an avid Dallas Cowboy Football Fan. She loved George Strait. Mawzy was a loving mother, grandmother, great grandmother, and great great grandmother. She loved to rock all the babies in her rocking chair "Big Brown". Mawzy was a people person, who loved everyone, and everyone loved her.

She is survived by her children: Karla Mansel, Dianne Stephens & husband Claude, Ben Davis II & wife Sue, Denise Frazier, Janna Johnson & husband Steve, and Jeffrey Davis & fiancée Irina; 27 grandchildren, 42 great grandchildren; 6 great great grandchildren; and numerous other loving family members. Mawzy was preceded in death by her parents, husbands: B. C. Davis and Kenneth Callaway, son: Patrick Pauley, grandson: Benjamin Davis III, 3 brothers, and 6 sisters.

The family will receive visitors from 12 Noon till 2:00 PM on Wednesday, January 2, 2013 at the funeral home. The funeral service will be 2:00 PM Wednesday, January 2, 2013 at Taylor Bros. Funeral Home with Dr. Mark Stoub officiating. Interment will follow at Roselawn Memorial Park in Van Vleck. Pallbearers will be: sons: Ben & Jeff Davis, grandsons: Ricky & Ben Pauley, Tony Fougere, Stuart Stephens, Darren Davis, Marc Frazier, Lee & Craig Thompson, Scott & James Johnson, Kevin Cook, and Brain Davis. Honorary pallbearers will be: Joey Fougere, Marcus Frazier, Ken Boyd, Johnny Wayne Mica, Tony Vargas, Ron Burrow, James Childers, and Jay Brumley.

The family expresses their heartfelt thanks to the Assisted Living on the Legacy Campus for the 3 years of love and care they gave her. She loved living there and the people who took care of her. The family also expresses thanks to Bay Villa Nursing Home for the care and compassion they gave her in her final days. In lieu of flowers, the family wishes donations be made to the American Cancer Society or to Disabled American Veterans.
