Louis Benavides, 76, of Bay City, Texas passed away April 10, 2008 at Matagorda House.
He was born August 25, 1931 to Sebastian Benavides and Petra H. Benavides.
He was a member of Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church and the Knights of Columbus. He was an avid domino player who won several domino tournaments. He was a very strong and independent person who touched all who came in contact with him. He was loved and will be missed.
He was preceded in death by: daughter, Ofemia Benavides; sisters, Teresa Perez, Susana Vargas and Manuela Arias; brothers, George Benavides, Juan Benavides, and Thomas Benavides.
He is survived by: sister, Margaret B. Carrion; special niece, Lydia Diaz, great-nieces, Maggie Monroy, Rosario Resendez, Christi Diaz, and Susie Brito; and his "angels", Alexis Mayte Monroy & Karla Alexandra Monroy. He is also survived by: John Henry Benavides; daughter, Alicia Vargas; several grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews, and other relatives and friends.
Visitation will begin at 11 a.m. Saturday, April 11, 2008 at Taylor Bros. Funeral Home.
Rosary will be recited at 7:30 p.m. Saturday, April 12, 2008 at the funeral home.
Funeral Mass will be at 2 p.m. Sunday April 13, 2008 with the Father Gerry Cernoch officiating. Burial will follow at Cedarvale Cemetery.
Pallbearers are to be: John Manuel Benavides, Matthew Benavides, Danny Perez, Michael Perez, Ray Benavides, and Arthur Benavides.
