Lorenzo R. Valdez, 70, of Bay City, passed away on Wednesday, August 7, 2013 at his residence. Lorenzo was born in Bay City on October 27, 1942 to parents John and Julia Rodriguez Valdez. He was a life long resident of Bay City and retired from the South Texas Nuclear Project where he worked in the tool shop.
Lorenzo was preceded in death by his parents and by a son, Lorenzo Valdez, Jr. He is survived by his daughters, Debbie Rodriguez and Katy Garay, a son David Valdez, and brothers, Jesse and John Valdez, half brother Guadalupe Valdez, and half sisters Mary Rose Cox and Corrina Cortez. He is also survived by 10 grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren.
A time of visitation will be held on Thursday, August 8th from 5:00 P.M. until 8:00P.M. with a rosary service being recited at 6:30P.M. at Taylor Bros. Funeral Home. Mass will be held on Friday, August 9th at 10:00 A.M. at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church with Msgr. Gerry Cernoch offciating. Interment will follow at Cedarvale Cemetery in Bay City.

Serving as pallbearers will be Manuel Rodriguez, Markie Rodriguez, Anselmo Herrera, Johnny Quintanilla, Jesse Quintanilla, and Lorenzo Valdez, lll.
