Lorenzo Gonzales, 79, of Van Vleck passed away on Tuesday, July 28, 2015. He was born on September 5, 1935 in El Maton, Texas to the late Ramon and Lola Vega Gonzales.

Lorenzo was an avid fisherman. He loved working in his garden planting peppers and oranges. He truly had a green-thumb. In his younger years, he loved to barbeque and go dancing with his wife Mary.

Lorenzo is survived by his loving wife of 60 years Mary Gonzales; children, Gloria Rodriguez and husband Noe of Lake Jackson, Domingo Gonzales of Van Vleck, Lora Gonzales Huerta and husband Alex of Clute; 15 grandchildren, numerous great grandchildren; sister Francis Mendoza of Danevang , brothers Pete Gonzales, Raymond Gonzales, Augustine Gonzales and numerous nieces, nephews and other loving relatives. He is preceded in death by his parents and sons, Lorenzo Gonzales Jr. and Guadalupe Gonzales.

Visitation will be Friday, July 31 from 5:00-8:00pm with the recitation of the Holy Rosary at 6:30pm at Taylor Bros. Funeral Home. Mass of the Resurrection will be 9:30am Saturday, August 1, 2015 at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church. Rite of Committal to follow at Roselawn Memorial Park. Pallbearers will be: Alejandro Huerta, Joseph Gonzales, Lorenzo Gonzales, Marcus Rudolph, Mario Rudolph, and Rogelio Garduno.
